Food Services Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Train, direct, and evaluate temporary workers or inmates in meal preparation, cleanup, and the safe use of kitchen equipment
• Oversee the preparation, delivery, and safety of meals to ensure dietary needs are met and sanitation guidelines are followed
• Maintain high levels of safety, security, and key control within the food service and kitchen areas
• Supervise the loading, unloading, and transport of food trays to jail and juvenile detention facilities
• Manage inventory, prepare food and kitchen supply orders, and coordinate equipment maintenance
• Monitor and report compliance with safety policies, including PREA, and issue necessary disciplinary measures or incident reports

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid food handler’s certificate (or ability to obtain one)
• Minimum of two years of experience in an industrial or full-service commercial kitchen
• Minimum of one year of experience in training and leading others
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
• Valid driver's license and a good driving record (ability to drive a truck in all-season weather)
• US Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident status
• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the criminal justice system
• At least two years of experience providing customer service to a diverse client population
