About the role

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion menu items including sandwiches, salads, entrees, and tube feeds
  • Assemble patient trays according to written ticket orders
  • Deliver meals, beverages, and snacks to patient bedside
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment and surfaces
  • Manage food cart delivery and pickup
  • Perform dishwashing duties including operating the dishwasher and cleaning cutlery
  • Follow strict food safety and infection control protocols

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Advanced Food Handler's Certification
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to prepare and mix basic recipes
  • Previous experience in food handling, preferably in healthcare
  • Physical capability to meet production targets
  • Availability to work every other weekend (AM and PM shifts)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a Food Service Worker (FSW)
  • Familiarity with therapeutic diets
