Food Service Worker II

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver patient meal trays following strict procedures for special diets, allergy cross-contamination, and medical precautions
• Deliver trays using two patient identifiers and follow infection prevention protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
• Perform tray retrieval using universal precautions to reduce the spread of bloodborne pathogens
• Operate department-provided IT equipment, such as iPads and cell phones, for meal tray tracking and food management systems
• Follow standard recipes for portion control and adhere to ServSafe food safety and sanitation procedures
• Maintain clean serviceware and equipment in accordance with health code regulations and chemical safety standards
• Communicate professionally with nursing staff, unit personnel, and management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written instructions
• Proficiency in English (speaking, writing, and comprehending)
• Physical stamina to stand, walk up to 5 miles per day, bend, twist, squat, and reach
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and push heavy carts
• Experience operating basic IT equipment such as iPads or computers
• Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
