About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of DFAC staff, including cooks and food service workers, during assigned shifts
- Execute daily meal service operations, ensuring timely preparation, serving, and replenishment of food items
- Maintain a ZERO Harm workplace by enforcing all safety, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Ensure compliance with food handling, storage, temperature control, and contamination prevention protocols
- Monitor and enforce cleanliness standards across kitchens, serving lines, and dining areas
- Oversee serving line operations to ensure efficient customer flow and service throughput
- Conduct pre- and post-meal inspections to ensure operational readiness and proper closeout
- Supervise equipment use and coordinate with maintenance personnel to track repairs and deficiencies
- Manage personnel accountability, including attendance, performance, and adherence to standards
- Support inventory control and manage supplies to ensure adequate availability
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- 3–5 years of experience in food service operations or dining facility environments
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a food service or hospitality setting
- Ability to manage and supervise a multi-cultural workforce (USN, LN, OCN personnel)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting U.S. military DFAC operations or contingency environments
- Familiarity with AFCAP or LOGCAP contract environments
- ServSafe Certification or equivalent food safety certification
- Experience working in deployed or austere environments (CENTCOM AOR preferred)
