Food Service Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of cooking, baking, and serving of meals
• Prepare daily menus and conduct weekly inventory
• Provide hands-on supervision and training to kitchen supervisors and Inmate Trustees
• Receive deliveries and check for accuracy
• Maintain regular communication with jail staff, corporate office, and regional manager
• Produce weekly paperwork for the accounting department
• Maintain a safe working environment and conduct monthly Safety Training meetings
• Manage staffing including interviewing, hiring, and creating schedules
• Verify employee hours using time management software
• Process all Human Resource paperwork for employees

Requirements

• Institutional or commercial food service experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to pass extensive background check (felonies are disqualifying)
• Ability to pass physical and drug screening
• Reliable transportation
• English language proficiency
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Correctional food service experience
• Veteran status
