About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise the preparation, cooking, and serving of food to students, staff, and visitors in an appetizing manner.
- Ensure all food service activities meet department standards and federal guidelines.
- Complete and submit register reports, cash deposits, HACCP information, and temperature/refrigeration logs.
- Train and cross-train staff in kitchen, storeroom, and service procedures.
- Manage inventory by estimating required ingredients, performing monthly checks, and verifying staff time and attendance records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3 years of applicable commercial food service experience.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
- Ability to sustain walking and standing on hard, slippery, or uneven surfaces.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level II Sanitation Certification.
- CPR Certification.
- ServeSafe Certification.
- (Note: Certifications may be obtained within 6 months of appointment).
