Food Expeditor

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and control the flow of food from the kitchen to the dining room to ensure proper pacing and timely service
• Organize and prioritize tickets to maintain course timing throughout service
• Verify all dishes for accuracy, presentation, temperature, and allergen requirements before they leave the kitchen
• Communicate clearly with chefs, cooks, food runners, and servers regarding ticket status and special requests
• Monitor ticket times and identify service bottlenecks to maintain smooth operations
• Ensure all dietary restrictions and modifications are properly communicated and executed
• Maintain organization and cleanliness throughout the expo line and surrounding service areas

Requirements

• Previous experience as an expo, line cook, or food runner in a high-volume restaurant
• Strong understanding of kitchen operations, ticket management, and service flow
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and allergen handling procedures
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
