About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform various kitchen duties including meal preparation in line with brand standards
  • Maintain compliance with Food Health & Safety audit standards and requirements
  • Adhere to group Disaster Management and Occupational Health and Safety standards
  • Execute all tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures
  • Utilize operating equipment correctly according to user manuals
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, presentation, and service for all guests
  • Participate in personal development activities and operational training

Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • National Certificate (Vocational): Hospitality (NQF Level 4) or CATHSSETA Professional Cookery (NQF Level 4)
  • Minimum 1 year of culinary experience in a formally brigaded kitchen
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work long hours, shifts, and irregular hours as required by the industry
  • Physical ability to handle prolonged standing, repetitive movements, and manual handling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher Certificate in Food & Beverage Operations Management (NQF Level 5)
  • Culinary related Diploma
