Food Bank Worker

Responsibilities

• Collect food donations from local grocery stores and community partners
• Weigh, record, and document all incoming donations accurately
• Sort and shelf donated food items following food safety guidelines
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper stock rotation to minimize waste
• Assemble food hampers based on dietary needs and family size
• Distribute hampers to clients in a welcoming, respectful, and confidential manner
• Staff and organize the Food Rescue Store, maintaining cleanliness and daily service logs

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a current driver’s abstract
• Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs
• Ability to perform physical work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to provide a satisfactory background check
