Food and Beverage Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide impeccable service to guests, ensuring their dining experience meets and exceeds expectations
• Make expert recommendations on food and wine pairings
• Prepare and set up operations according to established criteria
• Follow ordering protocols and manage the control and preservation of stock
• Implement HACCP and product control across various sections
• Knowledgeably present menu items and assist guests with dietary requirements
• Manage table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
• Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
• Communicate effectively with students and instructors, providing feedback on student development
• Handle guest feedback with professionalism and tact

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a sommelier, wine steward, or in a hospitality role
• Valid food handling certificate
• Extensive knowledge of wines, wine regions, and local vineyards
• High level of English proficiency
• Experience in a high-end restaurant or luxury hotel setting
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays
• Strong computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Sommelier certification or a degree in hospitality
• Spanish language skills
