About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach private guitar and mandolin lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
- Collaborate with the Folk Department Chair to support student growth and family communication
- Prepare students for recitals and musical performances
- Complete semesterly progress reports for K-12 private lesson students
- Participate in the annual fall faculty meeting and Open House
- Explore opportunities to contribute to community initiatives and summer programs
Requirements
- College degree in performance, pedagogy, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated success teaching guitar and mandolin to diverse age groups and abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to teach across multiple musical styles
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in Celtic or New England musical traditions
