Fluid Mechanical Design & Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, and build of new fluid mechanical laboratory test means
• Prepare test procedures and conduct hands-on testing on high-pressure fluid systems
• Operate and maintain data logging, acquisition equipment, and measurement calibration
• Perform system test data analysis using digital and big data analytics mindsets
• Produce high-quality Laboratory Test Reports and act as a Technical Focal Point for test campaigns
• Manage maintenance and obsolescence for legacy test means to ensure high availability
• Collaborate with external suppliers to support build and maintenance activities

Requirements

• HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship
• Proven experience working in a test laboratory environment
• Practical experience with large, high-pressure fluid mechanical systems (e.g., hydraulics, pneumatics)
• Familiarity with hydro-mechanical instrumentation and data logging/acquisition
• Strong technical report writing and reviewing skills
• Ability to work effectively across transnational teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Airbus aircraft fuel system operating principles
• Experience in test activity planning and configuration management
• Knowledge of Requirements Based Engineering or project management principles
