Flight Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute local and Continental US flight test activities
• Coordinate with project engineers to identify test objectives and data requirements
• Manage resources including range time scheduling, equipment shipment, and travel
• Ensure test support equipment and instrumentation are available and operable
• Champion testing best practices and ensure safe conduct of activities
• Participate in data reduction and review to verify test objectives
• Interface with inter-disciplinary engineering teams on novel UAS systems

Requirements

• US Citizenship required or ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
• 3+ years of experience as a test engineer in flight, wind tunnel, or similar environments
• Experience designing test instrumentation systems for ground or flight testing
• Experience with test planning and safety assessments for UAS
• Proficiency in data reduction using Python, MATLAB, or similar
• Ability to travel 25-50%
• Part 107 Certification
• Quad, multirotor, and/or fixed wing pilot experience
• Familiarity with experimental aircraft airworthiness release processes
• Experience testing UAS Swarming or multi-vehicle control
