About the role

About the Company

At Heart Aerospace, we are developing the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane capable of carrying 30 passengers, boasting an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 800 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of essential systems by collaborating cross-functionally with flight science, software, electrical, mechanical, and safety engineers
  • Lead in-vehicle debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system-level issues across electrical, mechanical and software systems
  • Support bring-up and maintenance of prototype aircraft, integration test benches, Hardware-in-the-Loop environments, and virtual simulation platforms
  • Create and execute system-level integration plans for a complete system or subsystem
  • Contribute to the software verification and validation strategy in accordance with DO-178C objectives

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in system integration, ideally in the aerospace or automotive domain
  • Strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, LIN, etc.), and system-level integration practices
  • Proficiency in Rust, C/C++, or Python for automation and testing
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and integration frameworks
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160G, DO-331, or other safety-critical standards
  • Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry
