Flight Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Task and oversee Flight Software Engineers in the design and development of flight software applications
• Attend program meetings and develop work breakdowns for engineers
• Function as a lead program software engineer when necessary
• Represent engineers in bi-weekly Sprint planning and contribute to code reviews
• Manage direct reports including technical mentorship, performance reviews, and interviews
• Provide weekly presentations, reports, and status updates to upper management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace, or equivalent
• Minimum 8 years of industry experience in embedded software within Aerospace or Space sectors
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing engineering teams in Aerospace or Space sectors
• Proven history of leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
• Experience developing software in C/C++ and deploying/testing on target environments
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering with an embedded focus
• Experience developing on Linux
• Familiarity with Zynq 7000 series, microprocessors, or FPGA
• Familiarity with hardware testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
