Flight Operations Generalist

Responsibilities

• Set up test sites including ground control stations, communications, power, and safety equipment
• Assemble, configure, and prepare aircraft for flight including mechanical, electrical, and payload setup
• Execute preflight inspections and verify telemetry links and mission plans
• Operate aircraft from the ground control station and monitor telemetry in real time
• Perform launch and recovery operations
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field
• Refurbish aircraft between flights and capture flight logs for engineering feedback
• Develop and improve standard operating procedures for flight operations

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on UAS, RC, or aircraft operations experience
• Experience setting up, preflighting, operating, and recovering unmanned aircraft
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software systems
• Proficiency with ground control station software
• Familiarity with Linux command line for debugging
• Ability to travel to remote test sites and work long physical days outdoors
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
• Experience with developmental flight test or build-up test programs
• Background in building RC or UAS aircraft
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
• Experience operating in austere or remote field environments
• Military aviation maintenance or aviation-adjacent specialty
