Flight Operations Crew Chief

Responsibilities

• Assemble, configure, and prepare aircraft for flight, including mechanical assembly, avionics connections, and payload setup
• Run preflight inspections and checklists to determine aircraft readiness
• Set up and verify ground support equipment, power, and physical test sites
• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and software issues in the field and hangar
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and replacements
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, squawks, and configuration logs
• Build and improve standard operating procedures for aircraft readiness

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on aircraft, UAS, or RC maintenance experience
• FAA Part 107 certification (or willingness to obtain quickly)
• Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and software systems
• Disciplined approach to checklists and documentation
• Willingness to travel frequently to remote test sites globally
• Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• FAA Airframe and Powerplant license
• Military aviation maintenance background
• Familiarity with Linux command line for debugging
• Experience with developmental flight test programs
• Background building RC or UAS aircraft
• Experience operating in austere or remote field environments
