Flight Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute flight safety analysis tools and methods for Electron launch vehicle operations
• Perform trajectory evaluation, debris modeling, re-entry analysis, and risk assessment using Python/C++ and 6 DoF/3 DoF simulations
• Process large datasets and create statistical models to quantify failure probabilities
• Support launch operations by generating risk data and building operator interfaces (GUIs/HMIs)
• Provide on-console support during launch campaigns and conduct verification of launch range systems
• Prepare comprehensive flight safety documentation, including launch licensing materials and standard operating procedures

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python
• 3+ years of experience in engineering analysis (numerical modelling, simulation, statistics, or multi-physics)
• Understanding of launch vehicle flight dynamics, orbital mechanics, and GNC
• Familiarity with configuration management and version control
• Strong technical writing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with LaTeX
• Experience generating flight safety data packages, compliance matrices, and analysis reports
• Experience with FMECA
• Experience with launch vehicle flight safety programs
