Fleet Technician 2

Responsibilities

• Perform required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, and light-duty vehicles
• Execute maintenance repairs on engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-lines, steering, suspension, fuel, ignition, exhaust, electrical, brake, and HVAC systems
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications
• Document all work performed on Work Orders using the Complaint, Cause, and Correction format
• Collaborate with management to prioritize work schedules based on operational needs and PM compliance
• Ensure all equipment meets DOT regulations and safety standards before being released back to operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training (2-year school preferred)
• ASE Certification (Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty)
• Valid Driver's License (CDL-A preferred)
• Experience in Fleet Maintenance and Repair (3 years preferred, or 1 year with a 2-year technical degree)
• Proficiency with computer-based diagnostic software for OEM and component manufacturing
• Basic welding and cutting skills (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
• Ability to meet physical demands including standing, walking, climbing, bending, and crawling
