About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise fleet activities, including personnel scheduling, vendor coordination, and maintenance management
- Manage daily shop activity focusing on labor, fleet purchases, inventories, and fleet vendors
- Ensure maintenance shops are adequately staffed and technicians are properly trained
- Implement asset management strategies for the addition, replacement, and disposal of assets
- Ensure safe and reliable vehicle availability to meet operational requirements
- Manage leasing and rental company fleets and monitor outside maintenance vendor repairs and costs
- Maintain compliance with all fleet-related DOT, OSHA, EPA, and KDP regulations
- Develop business plans and execute strategies to improve shop performance and reduce costs
- Conduct fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met
- Work in the shops alongside technicians to assist with general equipment maintenance
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing varied fleet assets (diesel and material handling equipment)
- 3 years of Fleet Diagnostic experience
- 3 years of Heavy Mechanic background
- Minimum 2 years of experience managing direct reports
- 2 years of experience with MS Office, Excel, and SAP (or other Enterprise Planning Software)
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel approximately 50% between multiple facilities in the Avenel, NJ and surrounding areas
