About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform daily preventive maintenance and inspections on landfill machines, vehicles, and heavy equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to determine necessary repairs
- Utilize welding, machining, and various hand/power tools to fabricate, rebuild, and repair parts
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and review operator inspection reports
- Respond to service calls and maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a clean and organized garage environment
- Test the start-up and performance of all machinery and equipment periodically
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Ohio Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card
- Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with diagnostic software and computerized troubleshooting systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification
