Fleet Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and advanced corrective maintenance on company fleet vehicles and equipment
• Conduct electrical system diagnostics and repairs, as well as gasoline vehicle drivability troubleshooting
• Execute brake system diagnostics, repairs, and component replacements according to manufacturer specifications
• Transport fleet vehicles and equipment between service facilities and operating areas
• Manage daily work assignments and accurately record time, materials, and service charges
• Identify and report unsafe conditions or maintenance issues to supervisors and management

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with air brake endorsement (training available for selected candidates)
• 2-3 years of automotive experience, including preventive/corrective maintenance, brakes, and electrical systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain A.S.E. certifications (minimum of 4 total)
• Ability to work 2nd shift (approximately 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm, Monday through Friday)
• Ability to self-furnish necessary tools for daily work

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of automotive technology courses
• Previous experience in a utility, municipal, or commercial fleet maintenance environment
• Knowledge of natural gas vehicles and related support systems
