About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full lifecycle management of the vehicle fleet, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal
  • Develop and enforce preventive maintenance schedules to maximize vehicle availability and extend asset lifespan
  • Monitor and analyze fleet performance metrics such as fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, mileage, and downtime
  • Ensure compliance with local and federal regulations, including safety standards, emissions, and driver hours-of-service rules
  • Coordinate with maintenance vendors and internal technicians to resolve mechanical issues promptly
  • Manage driver assignments, performance tracking, and training programs
  • Implement fuel management strategies to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including vehicle logs, repair histories, insurance, and licensing
  • Utilize fleet management software and telematics systems to monitor real-time data and generate reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet operations
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the logistics or transportation industry
  • Proven expertise in fleet maintenance planning and vehicle lifecycle management
  • Proficiency in fleet management software such as Samsara, Geotab, or Fleetio
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with ERP systems
  • In-depth knowledge of fuel management and cost control techniques
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in fleet management (e.g., CFM, CFP)
  • Experience with data reporting, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma
