Fleet Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead triage and bench/lab failure analysis across mobile base, charging, motion, power, connectivity, and sensor hardware
• Diagnose failures from component level (electrical, mechanical, firmware) to system level using methodologies like 5-why, FMEA, and 8D
• Pull and analyze fleet data and logs to define problem statements and validate hypotheses quantitatively
• Turn field-technician reports into crisp problem statements and own escalated on-call issues
• Drive short- and long-term corrective actions to closure with engineering, operations, and manufacturing
• Build fixtures, instrumentation, and bench test setups to accelerate debug workflows
• Document debugging procedures and root-cause findings

Requirements

• Hands-on electrical debugging including schematics, multimeter, and oscilloscope
• Hands-on mechanical debugging including mechanisms, tolerances, and mechanical drawings
• Hypothesis-driven, quantitative debugging skills
• Ability to perform system log analysis to reconstruct events and isolate failures
• 3+ years in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or complex electro-mechanical systems
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with robotics stacks (ROS or equivalent)
• Experience with deployed robot or autonomous-vehicle fleets
• Familiarity with networking (Ethernet, CAN bus) and firmware
• Experience driving supplier corrective actions and design feedback
• Hardware-in-the-loop test and validation-rig design
• Experience with compute platforms like NVIDIA Jetson/Orin
