Fleet Deckhand I

Responsibilities

• Build tow and handle rigging during maritime operations
• Prepare barges for customer delivery by securing lines, covers, and performing inspections
• Support maintenance, cleaning, and barge preparation crews
• Perform general housekeeping tasks including washing, scraping, painting, and sweeping
• Follow all safety rules and report any hazards or incidents
• Assist in completing vessel and safety documentation
• Work as part of a small crew to maintain safe fleet operations

Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain a TWIC card
• Ability to pass a DOT drug screening
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work on uneven surfaces
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at various heights, and near large bodies of water
• Basic functional reading and writing skills
• Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift (days and nights) including weekends and holidays
• Comfort working outdoors year-round in various weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous marine or deckhand experience is preferred, but entry-level candidates are welcome to apply
