Fleet Controller

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the movement of service and light vehicles within pit and plant areas
• Communicate real-time instructions to operators to maintain optimal cycle times and reduce delays
• Track fleet utilisation, availability, and performance through fleet management systems
• Maintain real-time visibility of fleet status, breakdowns, and production bottlenecks
• Provide shift-end reports to dispatch supervisors, production teams, and management
• Log breakdowns and defects, and schedule servicing and planned maintenance
• Serve as the central communication point between operators, supervisors, maintenance, and production teams
• Enforce mine safety protocols, traffic rules, and ensure completion of safety documentation

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Valid driver's license
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in open pit mining operations
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in fleet management
• Computer literacy and proficiency with mining fleet management systems
• Solid understanding of open pit mining operations and equipment cycles
