Fleet Boat Captain

Responsibilities

• Practice safe crew, vessel, and tow operation using company safety systems
• Supervise Mate and Deckhands in consultation with leadership
• Ensure safe vessel navigation through compliance with rules of the road
• Comply with USCG and environmental laws and regulations
• Delegate vessel responsibilities and tasks to crew members
• Assist with crew evaluations and training of deck crew
• Navigate barges safely to and from docks on the Houston ship channel
• Perform close quarter operations including headline operations

Requirements

• Master of Towing Upon Western Rivers or Master of Towing vessels Upon Great Lakes and Inland Waters
• Valid Driver's License
• Valid TWIC card (or ability to obtain)
• Radar endorsement
• FCC Radio License
• CPR/First Aid/AED Certification
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Ability to climb ladders and board/ride in a skiff
• Ability to live within 45 minutes of Channelview, TX
