Fleet Boat Captain

Responsibilities

• Keep the crew safe and manage the vessel efficiently
• Move and build tows while ensuring safe navigation
• Steer the tow up and down the river
• Navigate locks and bridges
• Conduct safety meetings and drills
• Maintain responsibility for equipment and environmental preservation

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience
• MMC, TWIC, or state ID required
• Advanced education and training (SCI, CEMS, etc.)
• Ability to navigate the river and handle large tows
• Proven leadership and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and write English for USCG regulatory requirements
• Ability to work in extreme weather
• Must live within a one-hour radius of St. Louis, MO

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced education and training (SCI, CEMS, etc.)
• Intermediate skills with MS Outlook
