Fixed Assets Accountant

Responsibilities

• Oversee acquisition, capitalisation, depreciation, impairment, and disposal of fixed assets
• Maintain an accurate, audit-ready fixed asset register
• Ensure Capex aligns with budget, project plans, and accounting standards
• Calculate and post depreciation for diverse asset classes
• Prepare schedules and reconciliations for internal and external audits
• Partner with operations, engineering, and procurement to validate asset data
• Review equipment rental/sales agreements and repair/maintenance costs for capitalisation
• Monitor fixed assets clearing accounts and manage tax compliance including FBT
• Maintain and reconcile Hire Purchase and Lease schedules
• Process EOM journals for motor vehicle registrations and insurance

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CPA/CA qualified or working toward accreditation
• Minimum 1-2 years experience in fixed asset or financial accounting
• Strong understanding of depreciation rules and impairment
• Ability to reconcile sub-ledgers, general ledger, and project accounts
• High attention to detail and strong data validation skills
• Experience in fuel, energy, utilities or capital intensive industries preferred
