Fitness Specialist

Responsibilities

• Welcome and motivate residents and guests to foster a supportive fitness environment
• Plan and lead engaging group classes and one-on-one fitness sessions
• Assist in developing and implementing aquatic programs and water exercise instruction
• Serve as a back-up lifeguard and Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
• Ensure pool operations comply with water chemistry, climate control, and safety standards
• Supervise the Fitness Center and educate residents on equipment use
• Track participation and maintain administrative records
• Respond professionally to emergencies following established protocols

Requirements

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
• Lifeguard certification
• Relevant national fitness certifications (group exercise or personal training)
• Prior group fitness leadership experience
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and move about the center as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors
• Aquatic experience or strong interest in learning aquatics
