Fitness Specialist

Responsibilities

• Welcome and motivate residents and guests to foster a supportive fitness environment
• Plan and lead engaging group classes and one-on-one fitness sessions
• Assist in developing and implementing aquatic programs, including water exercise instruction
• Serve as a back-up lifeguard and Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
• Ensure pool operations comply with water chemistry, climate control, and safety standards
• Supervise the Fitness Center and educate residents on equipment use
• Collaborate with other departments to deliver wellness programs and special events
• Track participation and maintain administrative records

Requirements

• High school diploma required
• First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
• Lifeguard certification
• National fitness certifications (group exercise and/or personal training)
• Experience in group fitness leadership
• Ability to lift at least 25 pounds and move about the center

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree
• Experience working with seniors
• Aquatic experience or strong interest in learning aquatics
