Fitness Director

Responsibilities

• Oversee all fitness operations to ensure the delivery of professional, high-quality, and safe health and fitness instruction
• Manage the department operating budget and drive personal training revenue
• Supervise, hire, schedule, and train department staff, including personal trainers and fitness counselors
• Develop high-quality exercise programming, testing, and personal training protocols
• Ensure member retention and satisfaction through excellent customer service and orientation programs
• Manage inventory of athletic supplies and fitness equipment
• Perform personal training instruction for up to 15 hours per week
• Participate in the Manager on Duty system and assist with club social events

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field
• Nationally recognized fitness certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, or NSCA)
• 3+ years of experience managing a fitness department, preferably in an upscale facility
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook
• Ability to obtain CPR certification within 30 days of hire
• Strong leadership, staff development, and budgeting skills
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, and lifting up to 75 pounds
