About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex fiscal processes including purchasing requests, travel vouchers, and payroll functions
  • Create, maintain, and analyze data for management reports
  • Support accounting processes for yearly external audits
  • Manage tuition calculations and Summer Session data
  • Execute complex purchasing duties such as bid processing, sole-source purchasing, and P-card reconciliation
  • Process and administer grant applications and budgets
  • Assist in the analysis of budgets for the College, individual departments, and specific projects
  • Perform additional duties including cash handling and assisting the Contracts Specialist

Requirements

  • Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 AND 15 quarter hours (or 10 semester hours) of college-level accounting, or equivalent education/experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience maintaining, monitoring, and correcting purchasing, travel, or payroll records
  • Experience working with confidential documents
  • Experience with budget and/or P-card reconciliation
  • Demonstrated customer service, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in an academic setting
  • Knowledge of WSU policies and procedures regarding purchasing and travel
  • Experience with Business Objects, WSU online mainframe (AIS), and WorkDay business systems
  • Experience with purchasing and cash handling in a professional work setting
