Firmwide Economic Scenarios Analyst

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of macroeconomic forecasts used in scenario design, collaborating with key forecasting partners and consumers.
• Monitor economic releases and events, prepare commentary on evolving risks, and anticipate implications for macroeconomic forecasting.
• Manage multiple project workstreams and ad-hoc requests, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Develop executive-level presentations for senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Interact with quantitative model development teams to enhance macroeconomic forecasting methodologies.
• Lead ad-hoc analysis and conduct economic research as required.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Economics, Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, or a related field.
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in research, forecasting, or business analytics within a financial institution, central bank, or consulting firm.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language or statistical software, such as Python, R, EViews, or Excel VBA.
• Strong quantitative skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear conclusions.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with scenario design in the context of CCAR or CECL.
• Experience in forecasting or statistical analysis of macroeconomic and financial variables.
• Experience working with structural or semi-structural macroeconomic forecasting models (e.g., DSGE, FRB/US, NiGEM).
• Experience with machine learning, AI, or large language models.
• PhD in a relevant quantitative field.
