Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test firmware solutions for smart speakers and various IoT devices within the PhonePe ecosystem.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers to define firmware requirements and specifications.
• Implement firmware features to support payment-domain IoT devices.
• Optimize firmware code and algorithms for efficient resource utilization and enhanced system performance.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Work with the QA team to develop test plans and verify firmware functionality.
• Document firmware designs, specifications, and development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of proven experience in firmware development for embedded systems, preferably in consumer electronics or IoT.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, or Java.
• Knowledge of hardware architectures, microcontrollers, and peripheral interfaces.
• Experience with hardware-software integration and working closely with hardware teams.
• Familiarity with wireless communication protocols and their integration into firmware.
• Experience with device drivers, low-level hardware interfaces, and debugging techniques.
• Understanding of software development practices, including Agile methodologies and Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
