Firmware Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Craft high-performance firmware for bare-metal and embedded OS environments
• Implement device-to-cloud communication protocols including MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP
• Manage wireless stacks such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thread
• Implement security measures including encryption, secure boot, and secure firmware updates
• Develop custom tools for software, hardware, and QA teams
• Use logic analyzers, JTAG probes, and oscilloscopes to diagnose firmware issues
• Partner with Project Managers in Agile/Scrum settings to architect software solutions

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional firmware development experience
• Experience with ARM Cortex-M or similar low-power platforms
• Mastery of C programming and RTOS environments like FreeRTOS or Zephyr
• Deep understanding of UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, and USB
• Proficiency with Git-based workflows such as Gerrit or GitHub
• Degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Functional skills in Java, Kotlin, Bash, or Python
• Interest in leveraging AI-driven tools for code quality
