Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of low-level firmware and drivers for connectivity chipsets (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC).
• Drive the integration of connectivity subsystems using hardware interfaces such as SDIO, USB, UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Architect and optimize firmware components for wireless module bring-up, initialization, power management, and system-level coordination.
• Lead debugging and root cause analysis across the full networking stack, from the physical layer through application-layer protocols.
• Provide subject matter expertise in IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth (Classic and BLE), Wi-Fi Direct, and Wi-Fi Aware.
• Implement and integrate security protocols including WPA3, 802.1X (EAP), and TLS/SSL.
• Define advanced logging, telemetry, and diagnostics strategies to enable efficient field issue triage.
• Mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions for new platforms and connectivity features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with deep expertise in connectivity and networking.
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Strong experience with RTOS and/or embedded Linux platforms.
• Deep understanding of wireless and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, mDNS).
• Extensive experience with hardware interfaces: SDIO, UART, USB, I2C, and SPI.
• Proficiency with debugging tools such as logic analyzers, bus analyzers, and packet capture tools like Wireshark.
• Proven ability to lead technically complex firmware projects and collaborate across global time zones.
