Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of low-level connectivity firmware and drivers for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC subsystems.
• Drive the integration of connectivity subsystems using hardware interfaces including SDIO, USB, UART, I2C, and SPI.
• Architect and optimize firmware components for wireless module bring-up, initialization, power management, and system-level coordination.
• Perform deep debugging and root cause analysis across the full networking stack, from the physical layer to application-layer protocols.
• Provide subject matter expertise in IEEE 802.11, Bluetooth (Classic and BLE), and security protocols such as WPA3, 802.1X, and TLS/SSL.
• Define advanced logging, telemetry, and diagnostics strategies to enable efficient field issue triage and resolution.
• Mentor engineers and influence architecture decisions for new platforms and connectivity features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 7–10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development with deep expertise in connectivity and networking.
• Expert-level proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Strong experience with RTOS and/or embedded Linux platforms.
• Deep understanding of wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) and the TCP/IP stack (IPv4/IPv6).
• Extensive experience with hardware interfaces such as SDIO, UART, USB, I2C, and SPI.
• Proficiency with debugging tools including logic analyzers, bus analyzers, and packet capture tools like Wireshark.
• Proven ability to lead technically complex projects and collaborate across global time zones.
