Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for sensors, hubs, BLE modules, and related hardware systems
• Design and debug firmware features for sensor communication, diagnostics, and data collection
• Manage BLE communication paths, including scanning, connection handling, and command flows
• Develop firmware for Wi-Fi, Ethernet, cellular, and TCP/IP networking
• Implement and review firmware cybersecurity features, including secure communication and encrypted transport
• Build and maintain production firmware release workflows, including OTA/FOTA artifacts
• Collaborate with hardware, test, and cloud engineering teams on bring-up and validation
• Investigate field issues involving wireless communication, power behavior, and security

Requirements

• Strong experience developing production embedded firmware in C or C++
• Hands-on experience debugging hardware using J-Link, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers
• Experience with BLE (GATT, Nordic/nRF) and Wi-Fi (802.11, WPA2/WPA3)
• Experience with wired networking (Ethernet, TCP/IP, MQTT)
• Experience securing firmware using TLS/mTLS, secure boot, and encrypted OTA/FOTA
• Experience with Git-based development workflows and release discipline
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate firmware production and quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with low-power battery-powered devices and power optimization
• Experience with embedded Linux, Debian packaging, and shell scripting
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build automation
• Experience supporting EVT/DVT/PVT and manufacturing test processes
• Experience with vibration sensors or industrial IoT systems
