Firmware Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design key features and prototype new opportunities and enhancements for memory technology
• Conduct investigations into key memory technologies and implement enablement solutions
• Manage defect fixes, code reviews, and firmware release management
• Enable and maintain firmware quality for DDR4, DDR5, and NVDIMM across AMD Embedded SoC products

Requirements

• 9-13 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years focused on relevant memory technologies
• Strong understanding of DDR4, DDR5, and NVDIMM
• Expertise in various DIMM types including UDIMM, SODIMM, RDIMM, LRDIMM, and LPDDR
• Proficiency with hardware debug tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or a related engineering field

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with memory recognition and configuration code
• Understanding of UMC features such as ECC, SME, SEV, and RAS
• Knowledge of platform BIOS, UEFI, or Coreboot
• Experience with scripting languages
• Understanding of different vendor implementations and memory timing differences
