Firmware Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain firmware for next-generation products.
• Develop core DVR engine software, including program guide ingest and scheduling of recordings and video streams.
• Create APIs to communicate with client applications running on platforms such as Roku, Apple TV, and Android TV.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of firmware components.
• Troubleshoot and debug firmware-related issues.
• Participate in the enhancement of existing applications and tools.

Requirements

• BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in a related field.
• Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
• Experience working with SQLite.
• Experience with concurrency and multithreading.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with JSON, REST, and websockets/lighttpd.
• Knowledge of open-source build systems such as Yocto or Buildroot.
• Familiarity with TV and video recording concepts, including ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0.
• Experience with home networking and media streaming devices.
• Knowledge of over-the-air (OTA) broadcasting.
