Firefighter Technician

Responsibilities

• Suppress all fires, including wildland fires, and take necessary action to prevent rekindling
• Respond to emergencies to protect lives and property
• Identify, protect, and report evidence indicating the cause of fire during salvage and overhaul operations
• Drive and operate assigned fire apparatus, support vehicles, and all related tools and equipment
• Perform related duties such as fire hose testing, pre-fire planning, station maintenance, and equipment inspections
• Report unusual circumstances or injuries sustained while on duty to the Lieutenant

Requirements

• Fire Fighter (2) (NFPA 1001) certification
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification
• Hazardous Materials Operations Level Certification (NFPA 472)
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification accredited through the State of Nevada
• High school degree or equivalent
• Valid state driver’s license
• Ability to maintain a Top-Secret government security clearance
• Ability to pass annual medical examinations and Physical Agility Tests per NFPA Standard 1582
