Firefighter

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, hazardous materials, and security emergencies
• Perform fire prevention inspections and safety training
• Conduct routine inspections on fire suppression, alarm, and security equipment
• Inspect sprinkler systems, fire panels, and standpipe hoses
• Perform daily inspections on apparatus and emergency response equipment
• Patrol facilities for building code violations and safety hazards
• Monitor weather alerts and act as a weather spotter
• Approve and inspect hot works and confined space permits
• Participate in daily emergency response training
• Complete incident reports and maintain required certifications

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Certified Fire 1 and 2
• EMR or EMT certification
• Hazmat Operations certification
• Current Driver’s License
• Ability to pass NFPA 1582 physical examination
• Ability to pass criminal background check and drug test
• Proficiency with access control systems and incident reporting software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial firefighter experience
• Hazardous Materials Technician certification
• NIMS Training 100, 200, 700, 800
