Firefighter

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, medical, security, hazmat, and threat situations according to Emergency Response Plans
• Perform routine inspections on fire alarm, fire suppression, and security equipment
• Physically inspect sprinkler systems, alarm devices, fire panels, and standpipe hoses
• Conduct daily inspections on apparatus, security vehicles, and emergency response equipment
• Patrol facilities for fire or building code violations and safety hazards
• Act as a weather spotter and monitor weather alerts
• Approve and inspect hot works, high-hazard hot works, and confined space permits
• Participate in daily emergency response training to maintain readiness
• Complete incident reports as required

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Certified Fire 1 and 2
• Hazmat Operations certification
• Current Driver’s License
• Ability to pass an NFPA 1582 physical examination
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
• Proficiency with access control systems, incident reporting software, and email
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform in high-pressure environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Industrial firefighter experience
• Hazardous Materials Technician certification
• NIMS Training 100, 200, 700, 800
