Fire Technician - Alarm Systems

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards
• Execute repairs and installations of fire systems and infrastructure
• Program Notifier systems
• Coordinate life safety system impairments with operational and maintenance personnel for repairs and new installations
• Inspect fire extinguishers and maintain a current understanding of facility equipment and systems
• Instruct and train site incident response personnel on the operation of life safety systems

Requirements

• NICET II or III certification in Fire Alarm Systems
• Demonstrated experience in facility maintenance or a similar technical environment
• Strong understanding of WHS Act and EHS policies and procedures
• Knowledge of electrical infrastructure and technical terminology for electronic equipment
• Ability to carry moderate to heavy loads and traverse uneven or cramped maintenance environments
• Eligibility to obtain and retain required security and medical clearances
• Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET I or II in Fire Special Hazards or Inspection and Testing of Water Based Systems
• Experience with Notifier systems
• Relevant trade qualification
• Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning software (e.g., SAP, Archibus)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
