Fire Systems Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and water-based fire protection systems per NFPA 72 and NFPA 25
• Conduct various inspection frequencies on water-based systems including monthly, quarterly, and annual checks
• Inspect and test fire pumps, dry systems, pre-action, and deluge systems
• Perform water flow tests for fire hydrants and standpipe flow tests
• Conduct fire alarm system testing including smoke detector sensitivity and elevator recall
• Troubleshoot system issues and perform minor repairs on equipment
• Document and report inspection results for compliance submissions
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and parts inventory in company vehicle
• Safely work at elevated heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• NICET Level I or II certification for water-based fire protection systems
• FASA BASA certification
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in fire alarm and water-based fire protection systems
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and NFPA 25
• Ability to read technical drawings and riser diagrams
• Proficient with mobile devices and inspection software
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level I or II certification in Fire Alarm Inspection
• Experience with low-voltage systems like security, access control, or CCTV
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
