Fire Systems Inspector

Responsibilities

• Independently perform inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and NFPA 25
• Document inspection results, code deficiencies, and service activities using company tools
• Communicate findings and recommendations to customers professionally
• Read and interpret fire alarm and sprinkler drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
• Maintain tools, equipment, and parts inventory in the company vehicle
• Follow all safety procedures, including working on ladders and lifts
• Provide on-the-job guidance to junior inspectors and apprentices

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in fire alarm and/or sprinkler ITM
• Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and Florida fire codes
• Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting
• Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics
• Proficiency with mobile devices and inspection software
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET Level I certification in Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems and/or water-based systems
• FASA/BASA license
• 3+ years of combined fire alarm and sprinkler ITM experience
• Experience working directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
