Fire Sprinkler Designer 1

Responsibilities

• Design fire suppression systems including wet, dry, pre-action, and foam fire sprinkler systems
• Prepare shop drawings, field installation drawings, and hydraulic calculations
• Compile and prepare plan submittals and material submittals for review by architects, engineers, and clients
• Coordinate fire sprinkler design with building structures and other MEP subcontractors
• Prepare project material stocklists for procurement and oversee quantity tracking
• Conduct NFPA and Building Code research to ensure compliance
• Visit construction jobsites to review field conditions and troubleshoot installation conflicts
• Prepare “as-built” drawings for in-house archives and client files

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field (Associates degree also considered)
• Ability to read construction, engineering, architectural, and structural plans
• Ability to travel to construction jobsites 25%-50% as required by the business
• Familiarity with MS Excel and Word
• Strong work ethic with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a schedule-driven environment
• High level of self-discipline and ability to work both independently and in a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or familiarity with AutoCAD
• Previous experience in fire sprinkler design or direct construction-related work
