Fire Safety Manager

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on fire safety legislation, prevention, and compliance
• Lead the development and implementation of the Trust Fire Safety Management System
• Manage and oversee the fire risk assessment programme
• Ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, NHS Fire code, and Building Regulations
• Develop and deliver fire safety training and evacuation procedures
• Coordinate fire drills and emergency preparedness exercises
• Investigate fire incidents and unwanted fire signals to identify trends
• Provide specialist fire safety advice on capital and estates projects
• Lead the Fire Safety Team and support workforce development
• Prepare audit reports, KPIs, and assurance reports for senior leadership
• Liaise with Fire and Rescue Services, regulators, and external partners

Requirements

• Recognised qualifications relating to fire safety
• Degree level education or equivalent competency in fire safety management
• Extensive experience in technical fire safety management direction
• Experience managing building compliance and professional staff
• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and fire risk assessments
• Knowledge of Firecode and risk management techniques
• Strong communication and complex information processing skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in healthcare fire safety
• Membership of professional organisations such as Institution of Fire Engineers or IOSH
• Experience within a large public sector organisation
• Experience with Private Finance Initiative (PFI) contracts
