Fire Protection Consultant

Responsibilities

• Manage and implement a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects
• Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews, including plan reviews and site visits
• Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions
• Prepare and peer review project-related technical reports
• Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing tasks on schedule and within budget
• Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and jurisdictional authorities
• Assist with business development activities

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in fire life safety code consulting, smoke control, or fire suppression/alarm systems design
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or a related field
• Proven project management experience
• Experience developing building code concepts, conducting plan reviews, and performing field inspections
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Smoke Control Design or Inspection
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or currently on track for professional designation
